Australia has got off to flying start in the Blind Cricket Twenty20 World Cup, with an impressive win against Nepal in Delhi on Tuesday.

Batting first, Nepal collapsed to 8-91 midway through the 14th over before Sunil Subedi Chhetri (34*) and Kritan Shrestha Duwal (29*) put on a 52-run partnership to help their side to a total of 8/143.

For the Australians, Mark Haskett was the best with the ball, returning figures of 2/19, while Ray Moxly took 2/24. Vaughn Roles and Lindsay Heaven also took a wicket each.

Australia then had little trouble chasing down Nepal’s total, as Stephen Palmer and Matt Cameron put on an opening stand of 145 to seal the win in 12.4 overs.

Cameron remained unbeaten on a match-high 68, while Palmer finished 38 not-out.

The win means Australia sits fourth on the tournament ladder behind Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka.
